Q) How long can the heparinol be stored once used?

A)The heparinol can be stored up to 72 hours upon use, provided aseptic technique is employed and the rubber closure is not removed from the vial.

Q) Is refrigeration required for Heparinol?

A)Refrigeration is not required. Recommended storage is at room temperature (15-30oC).

Q) What need to be done if crystallization of mannitol is seen in the bottle?

A)Crystallization of mannitol is a normal phenomenon. The bottle is to be heated as per instruction in the user information which is available in the carton packaging.

Q) Is coring caused solely by quality of the rubber disc?

A)No. While coring can be caused by quality of rubber disc, it can also be contributed by the quality of the spike port of the Intravenous (IV) set used and method of spiking.
