Indications
For the treatment and prophylaxis of infections which are due to anaerobic bacteria especially Bacteroides sp. and Protozoa. The treatment is effective in cases of infections of the CNS, endocarditis, bone infection, septicemia in thrombophlebitis, amoebiasis, genitourinary tract infections, infections of the lung and and pleura, gas gangrene and suppurating diseases in the abdominal and pelvic areas. A prophylactic use is always indicated in operations with a high risk of anaerobic infections (gynaecologic and intra-abdominal operations).
